Generalised aches & pains & muscle spasm

Muscle tension is created when a muscle contracts. A certain amount of muscle tension is needed to support the joints and to hold our body in an upright position, this is called muscle tone. When a muscle is not being used, it should be in a relaxed state. A muscle held in chronic tension or spasm uses up energy and can lead to muscular fatigue, it can also restrict your freedom of movement and cause discomfort or pain.

Causes of excess muscle tension or spasm can be: time spent in awkward positions, one-sided activities, stress or compensation for injury elsewhere.

Chiropractic adjustments may help to reduce general aches, pains and muscle spasm. Your chiropractor can also advise you on exercise and lifestyle factors to help avoid the return of your symptoms.
